Any modification or adjustment to the work or learning environment that will enable a person with a disability to engage with that environment and perform essential functions of that environment.  They assure that an individual with a disability has equal rights and privileges to their peers in any given environment.  The 'reasonable' part of the definition refers to the idea that the accommodation cannot pose an 'undue hardship' in an institution or undermine a primary learning objective in a learning environment.

Documentation and Why It's Necessary

One piece in understanding the fullest picture of a student’s experience is gathering documentation about a student’s diagnosis/condition. Documentation provides information about the functional impact of a disability, especially as it relates to a requested accommodation.
