A model of disability is a way to think about how people with disabilities exist in society. There are many models of disability; in this article we will discuss four prominent models.
An impairment is an absence of or significant difference in a person's body structure or function or mental functioning, according to the CDC. This word is used in the legal definition of disability, according to the ADA.
