Also known as transparency or alpha, this refers to the amount of ‘see-through-ness’ of a color. A color with low opacity is very see-through, a color with high opacity is more solid. Opacity and alpha go along the same axis, but transparency is on a flipped axis; low transparency is more solid and high transparency is more see-through.
